Productivity, pt. 3 or HOW KENNY HELPED US HANG THE BLINDS

TADA!
Our friend Greg painted the house for us a couple of months ago. He did a great job and the color turned out great! (Kyle picked it out. You can compare it to the old color - the color of the door. We're waiting on a pressure washer to be delivered very soon and then Kyle will take care of the door.)
Also, the lily. Just for good measure.

Productivity, pt. 2
- The mulch is purchased, but remains in a big pile in the front yard.
- The weeds in the flowerbed are GONE!
- The new ceiling fan is in operation and looks lovely.
- My dad bolted the dishwasher back to the counter. (He undid it and left it that way a couple of months ago when he was working on it. I finally remembered to get some washers so we could fix it. He did it for me last night. Nice.)
- Is it possible that that's all we got done last night? That list seems so short! But, alas, I think that is it.
And I woke up this morning to this:

Tonight, my mom is going to help me put down some landscape fabric (finally!) and then ... the mulch! Yay!

Flower "Fiasco"

Surprise! Mendy had surgery and Momma went down to tend to her for a while and Momma's flowers were delivered to our office while she was in Georgia with Mendy. Oops! So I got in touch with Mendy to tell her, "Hey! Thanks for the nice flowers."
To make a potentially long story short, she'd called to delay the delivery and apparently the florist didn't get the message. So they re-did the arrangement and delivered some new ones on Friday. And when Momma got home, she told me I could keep the old ones -- those that were still alive.

Lilies are my favorite. (Though, for the benefit of my husband, I also like tulips and irises, and sunflowers are my super-favorite!) So, thanks again, Mendy! :) Happy Mother's Day to you too!

Whoo hoo!!

My grandmother used to have these in her yard and when I was looking for some bulbs to plant in February, these just seemed like "the ones". I think I made the right choice.
SO PRETTY!

Two Quick Things:
Secondly, this: flowers in my office. Very nice ones, at that. It's a big arrangement leftover from church on Sunday. Flowers are nice -- particularly roses! :)

A List of Loves
- I love Journey Church. And I love that it meets at night, so I can sleep in on Sundays ... guilt free!
- I love Kyle Polk. He's a fabulous drummer and now you can hear what he sounds like by going here: www.myspace.com/apologyhymns.
Also, he played "auxiliary percussion" for John Vanderslice this weekend. Which basically means that when John invited everyone on stage with him to sing "My 424", the drummer threw a tambourine at Kyle and he got to play along instead of singing
My husband wants those drums. He can't have them.Add that to the resume of awesome drumming things in my husband's life. Because he was really excited about it. (Also, ridiculous, RIDICULOUS, how good that girl (the one playing bass) was. She is St. Vincent. She is ... wow. Just wow.) Also, John was overheard telling a friend at the merch table that this show was the best of the tour so far. I believe him.
I love my dogs. They're bad, but I love 'em.
I love my future flower garden / current pile of sand, mushroom compost, and topsoil. Kyle and I bought pretty things this weekend that will be planted as soon as the area in my front yard has soil that is suitable to sustain growth and life and prettiness. :)
- I love my friend whose knowledge and strength helped / helps to make this future flower garden possible! She is a pal, indeed!

A Pictorial Sunday Afternoon
And I have an orchid on my foot, and I finally found my camera so I could take a decent picture of it! Also. A dandelion.
And I got a haircut from my fabulous hair-cutting Mother In Law! And I love it!
And a moody photo of the haircut. (I hate taking pictures of myself.)
